When to wash my Blanket?

When to wash my Blanket

People mostly relate rug or carpet cleaning with blankets in terms of the time they take in drying. Undoubtedly, blanket and carpet take equal time to dry completely when we place them under intense sunlight at high temperature, but in case of blankets, we cannot wait for days or weeks for them to dry entirely in winters, unlike carpets. We need dry blankets rapidly in winters to get them in use again; on the other hand, rugs are not such items that should be dried quickly and be in use within a few hours. To avoid such tricky circumstances, the end of the winters is the ideal time for cleaning of the blankets, so that for the next year, we can keep them neat and clean in stores to easily re-use them.

Blankets serve us during the whole winters, and the duration can vary all over the world; hence, demand an overall cleaning at the end of the winters. There are many facts behind this. One of the main cause for doing this is that at the end of the winters, as the Temperature starts to increase on day-by-day and days are relatively much hotter than nights or evenings, so it’s a suitable time to wash and clean your blankets. All the water and moisture contents underneath the fibers of the Blanket will start to evaporate rapidly with the abrupt increase in Temperature. You can wait for the complete summer duration instead if you want to desiccate the blankets much quicker than at the end of the cold season.

Let’s look at another factor to clean blankets in summers. The high Temperature and abrupt change in weather condition not only fades away the moisture contents of the Blanket but also kills the dreadful pathogens, bacteria, and even some other allergens that are risky and can cause serious health problems in humans Temperature above 30 centigrade eventually leads to death of bacterial microorganisms. Additionally, it will be a challenging situation for users to clean blankets and use them again  at the same time because, in winters, it can take even weeks to dry the blankets completely.

Furthermore, it is not a good practice either to put the blankets back in stores without dry cleaning  or washing at the end of the season. All the dreadful germs and harmful bacteria can penetrate deep inside the blankets’ fibers, which can harm the users on re-use in the next season without cleaning. Maybe even if you are thinking of cleaning them just before the start of the winters, it is also against the medical and moral values.read more
